FRIENDS OF THE ALASKA CHILDREN’S TRUST
To increase awareness among Alaskans about the high rate of
child abuse and neglect in our state.
To raise money for the Alaska Children’s Trust — the only
funding source dedicated solely to community-initiated programs
that prevent child abuse and neglect in Alaska.
ALASKA
CHILDREN’S TRUST
To improve the status of children in Alaska by generating
funds
and committing resources to eliminate child abuse and neglect.
About
the Trust
The
Alaska Children’s Trust, (ACT) initiated in 1996, is
a “permanent fund” for children. ACT awards annual grants
to community-based prevention projects that promote
safe and nurturing environments for Alaska’s children.
The Alaska Children's Trust has granted more than $3
million to innovative, community-based child abuse prevention
projects across the state, including Anchorage, Juneau,
Bethel, Nanwalek, Sitka, Hoonah, Wasilla, Palmer, Togiak, Seward,
