Mush for Kids is the premier Fairbanks spring event for children, attracting more than 5,000 people to celebrate the importance of healthy families raising children in a safe community environment. Volunteer mushers give rides to over 1,000 children each year. Other event activities include the Musher Olympics, ice carving demonstrations, live entertainment, appearances by famous mushers such as Ramy Brooks, a hockey shoot with the UAF Nanooks, a puppy petting zoo, lots of fun activities provided by police, fire departments, and non-profit agencies that help children.
